I have had the privilege of coaching various clients over the year through economic downturns and job losses.
I have also been in business for myself for over 6 years.
I’ve gone through good times and bad times.
I’ve been on top, and I’ve been on the bottom.
Here’s what kills people when bad stuff happens to them.
They focus on the worst case scenario and panic. They focus on what they fear and as a result they panic and wind up fulfilling their own prophecy.
What we fear, usually isn’t that bad. Besides, there is no promise that what we fear will actually come true. Most of the time, it doesn’t.
What we have to do, is focus on what we want. What drives us. What we are actually hoping to achieve.
When we do this… that is when we have a chance of success.
When we focus on what we fear… we go into learned helplessness and give up.
