What is marketing?
Marketing is a core of business that primarily is about two functions.
- Bringing your innovation/offering to a matching hungry audience of people who want it!
- Testing the marketplace for product/service market fit.
Many businesses have excellent innovation or product/service offerings and yet they don’t have success.
Lack of marketing is one reason. Lack of innovation is another. Finally, being in the wrong industry/marketplace is another.
You are a coach. You teach people how to lose weight. You have a unique method that uses exogenous ketones to jumpstart fat loss via ketosis.
This is a very valuable innovation that could help many people lose weight.
The problem is, is that you only tell people in your gym about your discovery… therefore you have a small pool of clients.
However, if you ran an advertising campaign, built a tribe, began creating content, did interviews… you would touch, influence, move a substantially larger number of people to action that would enjoy hiring you and getting results from your product or service.
Here is all of business in two simple sentences.
Create something that is valuable to people and enhances the quality of their lives (in their own eyes not yours or your employees) and put your offering in front of the people that want it most.
If your offering is truly valuable… people will pay your price in order to get your offering into their lives.
